In 2024 we ran all studios at Learnlife Barcelona around the theme Circular Futures, taking work outside to collaborate with local organisations and building towards a public event, the Sustain maker faire. We welcomed Christina Schultz, a trans-disciplinary artist working with sound, poetry and movement as community knowledge.
Across studios we explored circular kitchen design and growing protein at home with Talkual and Cangarus, upcycled clothes with Solidança and repair artist Penny, citizen science for air and health, creative coding for carbon footprints, and instrument repair inspired by the Cateura recycled orchestra. Carpentry worked with the Moss Foundation in Eswatini through skateboard art and repair.
Funds raised at Sustain go to Moss, a volunteer-run water and sanitation charity that turns skateboards and art into water schemes in rural Eswatini. Our aim was to fund a 10,000 litre tank.
