Maker Change is a community activation project turning urban disconnection from nature into places for connection and action. We make open-source tree sculptures from reclaimed and bio-based materials, with QR-coded leaves that link to free action cards - small challenges like planting a seed bomb or taking a listening walk.
The trees are built locally with recycled or biocomposite materials, and residents co-create the action cards, so each one fits its own neighbourhood. Ideas feed back into a shared open-source repository, and anyone can build their own tree using our free guide.
We are collaborating with woody.bio on an accessible, low-impact bio-composite wood for digital fabrication, and we are now entering our co-design and prototyping phase.
