Across our studios we put together SUSTAIN, a free public event on the circular economy at the Urban Hub on May 23rd: workshops on making your own bioplastics, an exhibition of up-cycled objects, and cooking with seasonal produce.
Our science learners tested kombucha leather and bioplastics from avocado seeds, agar, cornstarch and fruit peels. In cooking they planted seasonal veg and built a reuse system, and in multimedia I worked on seed paper and how-to videos, plus a cookbook pairing recipes with the bio-materials made from their waste. Carpentry prepared 25 skateboards for the MOSS Foundation.
