We took part as Maker Change and Woody.bio in the 6th Trash Investigation Series, Organic Matters: two full days of hands-on fabrication using organic waste at TransfoLab Barcelona.
Roughly a third of all food produced is wasted, and cutting that waste could reduce 6 to 8 percent of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. Over an intensive design challenge, professionals, educators and researchers built practical solutions from organic materials, closing with an exhibition of the work.
Organic Matters is part of the BioLaMer project, supported as an EIC Pathfinder under the EU's Horizon Europe framework.
