Biomaterial experiments

I have been cooking agar bioplastic from a simple recipe: 10g agar agar, 8ml glycerine and 250ml water, coloured with cumin powder, beetroot or spirulina.

Mix the agar and water cold, add glycerine, then stir on low heat for about 15 minutes until it thickens to a syrup. Pour it fast but calmly onto a smooth surface, glass, melamine or silicon, and dry for five days. Aim for roughly 3mm sheets and expect them to shrink by up to 40%.
